A passenger lost his temper at the airport on the Spanish island of Mallorca. He spent about a quarter of an hour trying to “adjust” his carry-on bag so that he wouldn’t have to pay the fee for larger luggage. He was beating it on the floor, climbing on it and trying to pull the wheels off it. The whole situation was filmed by a fellow passenger who was watching. Her video went viral on social media.

A bizarre moment happened at the Palma Mallorca airport at the counter of the low-cost airline EasyJet. This allows passengers to take on board for free only one small piece of luggage with maximum dimensions of 45 x 36 x 20 cm, which must fit under the plane seat. You have to pay extra for a bigger one. This can be easily determined at any airport thanks to the test construction.
It was one of the EasyJet passengers who discovered at the airport that his green suitcase was too big and could not fit into the structure. The man began aggressively yanking the handle and stomping on his luggage. “He was banging the suitcase on the floor and trying to break the wheels. I only managed to film the end, but before that he was kicking it, throwing it, smashing the wheels on the floor and because airports have stone floors, it was very loud,” said Kimberly Standen, who recorded the whole situation on video.
According to the author of the footage, the man fought with the suitcase for about ten to fifteen minutes. “Everyone was really happy that he finally managed to get his luggage into the small cabin meter. Some people were clapping, laughing and amazed at what they had just seen,” described the 29-year-old woman, who was returning home on the same flight after a long weekend in Mallorca.
In addition, the upset passenger apparently began to “adjust” his luggage without anyone from the airline telling him that it was too big. “I don’t think there was any confrontation between him and the EasyJet representative beforehand. We were queuing to board the plane when it happened. I believe the man had not paid for his large hand luggage and found himself having to to go under the seat so that he doesn’t pay anything,” added Standenová.
EasyJet, like other low-cost airlines, is characterized by offering customers only basic services at an affordable price. That is why passengers can only take a small piece of luggage on board and they have to pay extra for the others, which the airlines inform about on their website in advance.
The video of the angry man was shared by Standen on the TikTok social network, where the footage received almost half a million views. While some people sympathized with the passenger, others were shocked at the lengths someone would go to avoid paying the fee. “There’s always a way around the system. I love it,” said one commenter. “But EasyJet literally posts their luggage size on the internet. People don’t read it anyway,” countered another TikToker.
