Passenger Banned for Urinating in Cup on Air New Zealand Flight – No-fly Zone Violation

The passenger, a 53-year-old man, had traveled from Auckland, New Zealand, to Sydney on an Air New Zealand flight. After landing, the plane had to wait 20 minutes before it could arrive at the gate. That took the traveler too long: he took out a cup and emptied his bladder.

Spilled about flight attendant

The incident appears to have occurred at the end of last year. The judge in Sydney considered the incident in February. A fellow passenger said the man was ‘visibly drunk’ and also spilled urine from the cup on a flight attendant when he exited.

The fine was imposed because, the Australian police said, he had ‘urined in a cup while sitting in his seat’.

No-fly zone

Air New Zealand does not comment on the matter, but says that every month five to ten passengers are banned from flying due to unacceptable behavior. This also includes drunkenness.
