REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The closure of the Emergency PPKM in Daan Mogot, West Jakarta (Jakbar) on Wednesday (7/7), brought conflict between the TNI-Polri institutions, particularly the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) and the West Jakarta Metro Police. That’s because on Wednesday night WIB, dozens of personnel Paspampres brought a motorcycle to the West Jakarta Police Headquarters.
The arrival of tens of Paspampres members was the result of the arrogance of the officers when they were blocking the Daan Mogot post, West Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon WIB. It was a member of the Paspampres, the Chief Soldier (Praka) Izroi Gajah, who was the trigger.
He, who was dressed in civilian clothes, was hit by a joint raid by TNI-Polri officers. With a tall, sturdy posture and short hair, he chose to succumb when threatened by officers to block the Emergency PPKM.
Without babibu, Izroi was suddenly pushed and shouted by members of the West Jakarta Police Resmob. “I plead guilty, Bang,” said Izroi, who showed a non-resistance attitude when surrounded by several police personnel.
In the viral video, it can be seen that Izroi has admitted to being a member of the Paspampres. However, police personnel who were not wearing official uniforms even shouted at Izroi. “If you are Paspampres, really? Why? said the policeman who looked defiant while pushing Izroi.
At first, Izroi did not want to show his KTA, because the officers on duty were not wearing official uniforms. He also admitted that he was in a hurry because he was on duty. This turned out to make the police officers emotional.
Not believing Izroi’s confession, the police asked to see the membership card (KTA). Immediately, TNI AD personnel wearing field service clothes (PDL) joined the inspection, and it was proven that Izroi was an active military personnel. When they found out that Izroi did not claim to be a member of the Paspampres, the police who looked fierce dispersed on their own.
Izroi was immediately in a position of respect when there was an officer in front of him. The officer advised him to be obedient on the road. However, because Paspampres members were treated rudely, the spirit of corps emerged among fellow Paspampres personnel.
The troops guarding RI 1 and RI 2 were trying to find personnel from the West Jakarta Police Resmob. Luckily there was no riot that night.
Paspampres Commander Major General Agus Subiyanto even can understand when dozens of his subordinates move to find police personnel who act rudely to Paspampres personnel. Moreover, the police in such a high-pitched tone brought up the name Paspampres. “Because this offends state institutions,” Agus said in Jakarta, Thursday (8/7).
Agus said that not all Paspampres members live in dormitories. As many as 75 percent of all Paspampres members, he continued, actually live outside the dormitories, which are spread across the Greater Jakarta area. Therefore, they still have to work according to schedule.
“Every day going back and forth from work and going through isolation points,” said the former 061/Suryakencana Danrem.
Agus understands that the officers in the field must enforce the rules at the isolation point. However, he said, Paspampres was one of the essential sector workers who had to keep coming to work. Therefore, he asked officers to better understand the rules of Emergency PPKM, referring to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs number 15 of 2021 concerning Emergency PPKM.
“If the officers do not understand the rules, there will be miscommunication between residents working in the specified sector and PPKM officers. I have coordinated with the TNI and Polri dansat (unit commanders) in the field to understand the Emergency PPKM rules,” said Agus.
The head of the West Java Police, Kombes Ady Wibowo, admitted that there was indeed a misunderstanding between his members and the Paspampres personnel. He claims that the current conditions involving the two institutions are conducive. The problem has been well resolved.
“Indeed, there was a misunderstanding with the members who carried out the partition. But now it has been completed,” Ady told reporters, Thursday.
In order to solve the problem, Ady admitted that he had directly met the Danpaspampres. Ady also apologized for the level of behavior of its members, who felt arrogant. “This matter has been resolved. I have also apologized directly to the Danpaspamres,” said Ady.
He added that the four police officers who had an argument with Praka Izroi were now being investigated by the Propam Division of the Polda Metro Jaya. If an error is found during the examination, the West Jakarta Police Resmob personnel will definitely be punished.
“Four personnel involved in a dispute with Praka Izroi are being investigated by the Propam Bid to account for their actions,” said Ady.
