The attitude of the presidential security forces (paspampres) who were in the procession went viral on social media for hitting the rearview mirrors of people’s cars.
Most recently, the resident had accepted the Paspampres action because it had blocked the presidential entourage.
Early Chronology: Depok resident named Taufan Aziz uploaded a video via his Instagram account taufan_gilbert on Monday (27/12) until it went viral.
He uploaded a video of his car’s rearview mirror almost breaking as a result of being damaged by the paspampres. It happened last Friday (24/12).
“Mr. Jokowi, please, sir, that’s his entourage, sir. Go past, you don’t have to damage the rearview mirror too, sir. This is how my mirror was damaged because of your entourage,” said Taufan in a video re-uploaded to the Instagram account @memomedsos.
Confess Wrong: On Monday (27/12), Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono uploaded a video containing Taufan Aziz apologizing and admitting his mistake.
In the video, Taufan confessed that he was driving a car while holding WL. As a result, the car being driven moved to the right, blocking the presidential entourage from Jakarta to Bogor.
He admitted he was wrong for driving a car while holding WL.
“I, Taufan Aziz, the owner of the taufan_gilbert Instagram account, expresses my apologies and admits my fault for my actions in uploading a video of my rearview mirror damage because it blocked the path of the presidential entourage,” said Taufan in the video.
Accept Paspampres Action: Taufan accepted the Paspampres action as a form of warning because he had blocked President Joko Widodo’s convoy.
Taufan said that Paspampres had already paid for the damage to the rearview mirror.
“I apologize for this action. Hopefully it will be a lesson for all Indonesian people so that it doesn’t happen again,” wrote Taufan in a stamped letter.
