The last pending issues for the telephone battle between the 6 candidates for the presidency of PASOK-KINAL have also been closed.
At noon on Wednesday, the representatives of the contenders, in a meeting they had in the context of the Ethics, Statute Implementation and Certification Committee (EDEKAP), reached an agreement on the conditions for holding the debate. Common ground was found and disagreements over proposals for direct dialogue between the “6” were overcome.
The debate ahead of the internal party elections on October 6 will take place on ERT in dialogue circles with thematic sections, while there will also be a direct dialogue between the candidates for the leadership of PASOK (Nikos Androulakis, Pavlos Geroulanos, Nadia Giannakopoulou, Anna Diamantopoulou, Haris Doukas and Michalis Katrinis).
Thus, it was decided that the debate to be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, will be developed in 6 thematic sections:
- Economy – Development
- Social state, new generation, demographic
- Foreign policy, defense, EU
- State, Institutions, Self-Government
- Climate crisis, political protection, energy transition
- PASOK: Next day
According to information from Harilaou Trikoupi, in each thematic section the two journalists who participate and coordinate, ask questions within 30 seconds and each candidate answers within 90 seconds. Also, each presidential candidate has the right 5 times during the debate to address a question/position/comment to a different candidate each time and to a different thematic section.
As noted, the interactive discussion will be structured as follows: 30 seconds question/ 30 seconds answer/ 30 seconds reposition/ 30 seconds rejoinder.
