With the latest opinion polls outlining a derby for the second place in the PASOK, between Anna Diamantopoulos and Harry Doukas and a few hours after the debate and the remark “Thank goodness you are not Mitterrand, fortunately for us you are not Erdogan either” said by Nikos Androulakis to the mayor of Athens the skirmish between the two men continued.
Haris Doukas, with his post on social media, raised the thermometer of the political confrontation to high levels, speaking of “character assassination” and stating that “close associates of Nikos Androulakis are attacking me with the rhetoric of the right and the extreme right”.
In his angry post, Haris Doukas did not go into details and did not name any associates of Nikos Androulakis. However, he stated, among other things, that “the glass has overflowed” and that “Nikos Androulakis must take a stand, otherwise he will be jointly responsible”.
In the staff of Nikos Androulakis, as soon as they saw the post in question, they issued an announcement, which is essentially a reaction. This informal update places Haris Doukas’ post in the category of “artificial polarization” and they emphasize that “some are looking for a lifeline”.
A close associate of Nikos Androulakis stated on the stage that “there are much harsher and personal posts on Nikos Androulakis from supporters of Haris Doukas. Posts that dynamit the climate, but it is our duty to guard the unity and all the good political climate that has been created. We will not publish reactions and under no circumstances did anyone from Nikos Androulakis’s staff write anything on their personal account about any candidate.”
Pavlos and Anna took a position in the debate of the posts
A little while later, Pavlos Geroulanos took a position for the disaffiliation of Haris Doukas with the staff of Nikos Androulakis. In a post on social media, he said “PaSoK came out stronger from the debate because we proved that we can talk, despite our disagreements, in an organized and civilized way” and continued by stressing that “no one has the right to undermine what we have achieved. Artificial tensions that concern no one do not help at all.”
This statement was interpreted by some as a dampener of internal party turmoil and by others as a sign of a possible alliance between Androulakis and Geroulanos.
Anna Diamantopoulou also took a position in the controversy that took place on social media, who wrote on her personal account “Comrades, be careful not to get stuck with SYRIZA”. Essentially ringing the bell and urging everyone involved to tone down and take a step back.
The post of trolls
Immediately after the post of Pavlos Geroulanos, an anonymous account on the social media X ex-twitter, which at a cursory glance supports Haris Doukas, in the form of a quote, attached some photos with PaSoK executives commenting on the debate.
These executives, however, whose names were posted publicly without his approval and are reserved for all their legal rights, have no cooperation with Nikos Androulakis or any other candidate.
Everything shows after the latest developments that every post, every move and every reaction will have a special weight as time counts down to the polls and that the gladiators of October 6 are not prepared to leave anything to chance.
