PASOK: The Five Day War – 2024-10-04 20:06:48

Five days left until Election Sunday. Five days that will determine the outcome for the next president of the PASOK, but also the future of the faction in the coming years. The big battle will take place on Sunday, October 6. It is being held in the wake of the debate and with an eye on the opinion polls, which all reflect the rise of the party

This battle will initially provide an answer to the riddle of the second round. Who will be the candidates who will pass and face each other on October 13? At the same time, who will be the candidates who will be cut on Sunday night and will see the efforts of the previous months go to waste?

Certainly, if someone asks a candidate, he will answer that the possibility of defeat does not cross his mind. But victory cannot come for all six candidates, and this victory will be determined by a network of actions that culminate in the next critical 24 hours.

The undeclared war of organizational staffs

Candidate executives on organizational staffs do not sleep. The people in charge of the mobilizations are constantly calling phone numbers that are in the clearly written register of members that they got from E.D.E.K.A.P. They try to contact as many party voters as possible. They want to keep their engines warm until Election Sunday.

First on the list are certainly those who signed the respective nomination. Then they call the rest. Depending on the reaction received by some… “organizational professionals” they rate the phone call. They grade it. They care whether he was an ardent supporter or not. This movement will play an important role in the mapping and mobilization of the last day. All the data is in the excel of the offices and the volunteers make sure everything is in order. Anyone who doesn’t answer the calls is sure to receive an SMS or an email by Sunday. Nothing will be left to chance.

Image counts

In addition to the organizational part, which is at its peak these days, the communication part is also very important. Candidates know that the more hands they shake, the greater the chance of a positive outcome. And because there is no better way than live communication, they invite their supporters to their keynote address.

There, candidates will say everything that needs to be heard. They will speak in unison. At the same time, they will greet people, that is, they will shake hands and come into contact with the communicants and the preachers of their candidacy.

Also, the image of a full hall always causes anxiety among the co-candidates and their staffs. The “sea of people” is a demonstration of power and they are well aware of it in PaSoK. This is why there is pressure for suffocatingly full pre-election rallies.

Last moves on the pre-election chessboard

Nikos Androulakis, who yesterday gave a speech in his hometown of Heraklion, is going north on Wednesday. Specifically in Serres and Kilkis, while he has also planned actions in Thessaloniki. He then returns to deliver his keynote speech on Friday at the old Parliament and will close his tour on Saturday in Patras, the hometown of PaSoK founder Andreas Papandreou.

OR Anna Diamantopoulou she also chooses a similar pattern of movements, as she will move in the last week in places familiar to her. She is also going North. First in her hometown of Kozani, then Thessaloniki and then she returns to Athens to hold her last pre-election rally, in a central hotel of the capital located in Karaiskaki Square.

THE Harry Doukas today he will go to Agrinio and on Wednesday he will give the “Democracy Award of the City of Athens”, for the 50 years of post-colonialism. This award will be received by the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulouas the country’s first citizen. After the award, he will head to Panhellenic where he will hold his central pre-election rally. While in the next few days he will also go north, specifically to Katerini and Larissa.

The remarkable thing about Tetartis is that Haris Doukas and Pavlos Geroulanos they will duel organizationally and communicatively in their city, Athens. While one will be in Panhellenic, the other will meet his supporters in the hall of the old Parliament, where he will make his own central pre-election speech. Pavlos Geroulanos will also speak on Friday in Patras and will close his tour in his native Kefalonia.

THE Michalis Katrinis yesterday he made his keynote speech in Pyrgos, in the region where a member of parliament is elected. In the following days he will make trips to Peristeri, Larissa and Kalamata. Whereas, yesterday she held her central pre-election campaign in Peristeri and Nadia Giannakopoulou.

It is worth noting that both the candidates and the members who make up their staffs continue the undeclared but incessant image war. Sponsored photos on social media. Creating videos, through which they launch their political positions, as well as their human face, combined with targeted interviews, create a communication puzzle that is completed daily for each candidate and will be completed on the evening of October 6.
