PaSoK: The 8 new MEP candidates – 2024-04-20 11:10:27

In detail, the names and biographies of the eight new MEP candidates, who complete the PaSoK ballot, as announced by the party’s president, Nikos Androulakis, are:

Adamou Konstantina: Konstantina Adamou is a Historian-Internationalist. She was elected Member of the Greek Parliament from 2019 to 2023. During her term, she made over 150 personal interventions in the Parliament on major national issues while at the same time writing articles for various newspapers on current issues. For 4 years he was a member of the Educational Affairs Committee of the Parliament making key proposals and interventions.
He is a member of the Education Sector of PASOK and a member of the Central Committee of PASOK – Movement for Change. In the 2023 national elections, she was a candidate for PASOK-Movement of Change in the 2nd District of Thessaloniki. She was born in 1986 in Thessaloniki and comes from the historical and martyred Hortiatis and from Kilkis.

She was Municipal Councilor of Hortiatis (2010–2014) as well as Erasmus+ Program Manager. He also volunteered in various volunteer groups. For 12 years he has been fighting for German reparations with the National Council for German Reparations in Greece and Berlin. He studied History & Archeology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Master’s Degree in European Politics at the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Macedonia. She is the owner of a Tuition Center, married and the mother of a small child.

Aerakis Michalis: Michalis Aerakis was born in Anogeia, Rethymnon, Crete and was the first of four children in his family. His grandfather was a priest. At the age of 7, his father Giorgos, who was a shepherd, suddenly left as an immigrant to Germany and he took over the reins of the house. When he finished elementary school and his father returned from Germany, they stayed as a family in Heraklion, while later they moved to Athens, with Michalis Aerakis attending a night school, where he participated in the theater group.

He worked as a lottery ticket seller, waiter, painter and butcher’s assistant. After the years of the dictatorship he sang in taverns and with the money he earned helped his family. He thought about the theater when he was discharged from the army, but a car accident deprived him of the opportunity to take the exams at the Drama School. Pelos Katselis accepted him in his school after a personal discussion with him. Today he is an accomplished Greek actor who for 17 years was the artistic director of the Municipal Regional Theater of Crete.

He has participated in numerous performances both at the National and the Free Theater. He has also been involved in numerous film and television productions. His volunteering is noteworthy both in prisons where he participated in the Second Chance School and in Cancer Patient Associations. In recent years he has been a teacher at a drama school as he has the need to pass on his knowledge to the young children who are the future of Greek theatre.

Budget Maria: Maria Boutzeti is a Strategy and Communication Consultant and PhD in Political Communication in Social Media at the University of Athens. He studied Communication and Mass Media at the University of Athens, obtaining a master’s degree in digital, interactive media, with honors. In her PhD thesis she composed an original model of political communication that transcends the barriers of traditional media and focuses on the individual user. He has published a collection of essays
entitled “What has happened to words?” Assembling the era’ around public life, aspects of the internet, the changes that social media has brought to personal and public communication, social pathologies and possible solutions. He regularly writes for online and print media.

Nikos Xylouris: Nikolaos Xylouris was born and raised in Crete. From an early age he wanted to give to others and that is why he studied Medicine. He practices his specialty specializing in robotic surgery – orthopedics in a clinic in the center of Thessaloniki, as well as in his hometown of Crete, while he collaborates with the Trans-Balkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki, where he also performs surgeries. At the same time, he provides his services at the Social Clinic of the Diocese of Neapolis – Stavroupoleos from 2014 until today. It is a member of the World Sports Medicine Confederation and has been active since 2011 in the sports field, maintaining cooperation with the Association of Macedonian Football Clubs. From 2016 to 2018 he participated in the medical staff of “PAE HERACLES” and between 2019-2022 he was the responsible match doctor of the “Super League”. In 2022-2023 he was the chief physician of the “PAE ARIS” football team. Since 1989, he has been an active member of PASOK without ever dissociating himself, as he was a candidate for PASOK parliament in the first constituency of Thessaloniki from 2012-2019 and a member of the Movement’s Central Committee. He lives with his family in Thessaloniki and is the father of three children.

Pazios Giannis: Yiannis Pazios was born in 1983 and grew up in Kalamata. He is a graduate of the Department of Geography of the University of the Aegean. He is the General Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Union of Messinia, CEO of the Agricultural Union S.A. Agricultural Advisory Services, President of the Association for Messinian Olive Products PDO and Vice-President of the Association of Geographers of Greece. From 2022 he is Secretary of the Digital Policy Sector & Member of the Central Political Committee of PASOK – Movement for Change. He speaks English and German.

Ekaterini Plesia-Eustathopoulou: Aikaterini (Katerina) Plesia-Eustathopoulou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. He studied at the Polytechnic School of D.P.Th. and is a qualified Environmental Engineer and Civil Engineer. He continued with postgraduate studies at Cambridge University and graduated with distinction in the subject of Sustainable Development. As a student she was a member of PASP Xanthi. He worked as an Environmental Engineer from 2013 to 2017 specializing in Environmental Impact Studies in infrastructure projects in which he applied sustainable management methods. He is an inspector of quality assurance systems and has implemented systems in technical companies. After her postgraduate studies, she works as a Business Consultant specializing in the implementation of new technologies in Public Utility companies with an emphasis on – promoting circular economy policies – optimizing processes and system performance – creating a zero consumption strategy. He has been living in London since 2017 and is a member of the PASOK election campaign committee.

Sotiropoulou Georgia: Georgia Sotiropoulou was born in Lamia and lives in Sofiada Domokou Fthiotida.
For the last 25 years it has been involved in the primary production sector. As a farmer, she participates in trade union bodies of the sector. She has been an active member of PASOK since 1990 and was a candidate for parliament in 2012 and 2015. She is married and has two sons, who are also involved in the primary production sector.

Konstantinos Chouliaras: Konstantinos Chouliaras was born in 1974 in Ilion, Attica, where he grew up and lives to this day. It comes from Lepiana Artas and Pentalofos Evros. He graduated from the 3rd General High School of Ilio and studied at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ioannina. He holds a Master’s Degree in “Educational Sciences through Innovative Technologies and Biomedical Approaches” from the University of West Attica. During his studies he was a member of PASP and a volunteer in environmental groups. He is the owner of a Secondary Education school in Ilion and a Vocational Guidance Counselor. Since 2017 he is the president of the Western Basketball Academies Sports Association and since 2021 a member of the ESKA Basketball Facilities Committee. He actively participated for many years in school Parents’ and Guardians’ Associations and the Ilio Parents’ Association. He is married and has two boys.
