EDEKAP examines the rules of the debate between the candidates for president of the PASOK with the participation of their representatives. The subject of their discussion was the proposal of Nikos Androulakis for a debate of a different type than the previous ones. Without parallel monologues of a specific duration, but with open dialogue.
The Androulakis proposal
This proposal, for a telefight with different termscame like a bolt of lightning and gives special interest to internal party developments. The reason is that something similar has never happened before, neither in PaSoK nor in Greece in general.
Free dialogue between candidates takes place in European states. If the staffs of the candidates agree to this proposal, then we will be talking about an original telefight that sets new rules for conducting debates and takes the specific process one step further.
What are other candidates proposing?
The staff of Haris Doukas emphasize that the Mayor of Athens is in favor of an open discussion with free dialogue, as long as rules are introduced, so that a solution can be found. They also ask for equal participation of all candidates, as there are six in number.
Pavlos Geroulanos is also in favor. He welcomes the initiative. It is something he wanted, as his close associate points out, there is a political culture, the conditions are ready for such a thing and it will serve.
On the same wavelength and Anna Diamantopoulou who has repeatedly requested the debate. In fact, for two weeks now she has been emphasizing that whatever she has planned for the day of the telefight, she will cancel it in order to be present and present her proposals for the following day. She asks the same from her co-candidates, so that this opportunity for an open discussion between them is not lost.
Michalis Katrinis has no objection as he states. He agrees with the proposal and wants the free dialogue to take place.
Nadia Giannakopoulou goes a step further, initially agreeing with the free dialogue and with the European model but also with the American one, as this way there will be a real dialogue.
When will the debate of the candidates in PaSoK take place?
Everything shows that the holding of a prototype for the Greek data debate is just around the corner. With the candidates having no substantial disagreements with each other. The only thing that remains to be discussed is its date, with September 24th currently appearing to be the most prevalent.
