A thanksgiving devotion on Eulenberg at the end of the annual game season is a tradition at the “Pascherverein Schönseer Land”. This was celebrated last Saturday, designed by community officer Christian Glaser. This was followed by a premiere: For the first time, chairwoman Birgit Höcherl reviewed the past two years of the association at an “open-air general meeting”.
In 2019, “everything went well,” said the chairwoman in her activity report. “Pascher – the night of long shadows” and “will-o’-the-wisps” would have met the expectations of organizers and players in summer 2019. The performances of the “Royal Bavarian District Court” in the vaulted hall of the Centrum Bavaria Bohemia for the finale of Carnival 2020 met with an excellent response from the audience. Shortly afterwards, Corona closed the curtain for the season of the same year.
Birgit Höcherl spoke about the special dates of the 181-member association in 2019 with the open-air games, the horse pilgrimage organized by the Lindauer Wirt or “Advent in the Forest” from a usual association year, the pandemic wrote the association’s program from spring 2020. As in summer, it remained quiet on the second weekend in Advent on the Eulenberg. On the second Sunday in Advent, a successful alternative was the performances of the “hostel search” in the parish church with various groups. In retrospect of the chairmen, the memory of the awarding of the Bridge Builder Prize at CeBB was also remarkable.
With a view to the current year of the association, Höcherl referred to the opening of the library as well as the encouragement for the staged scene inügellohe. This year the performances of the Pascher open-air play were possible again, which after a year of compulsory break demanded not only the players and helpers but also the Eulenberg team with the work around the open-air stage.
Even if the number of visitors had to be reduced to a third of the seats, the aim was to give the guests a bit of a return to normalcy – which also includes the Pascherwurst and fresh kitchens. Understandably, however, that the limited number of guests also had an impact on the club’s finances, as treasurer Hans Margraf explained in his report.
According to the current status, it goes without saying that there is still a question mark behind “Advent in the Forest” this year, according to the unanimous opinion of the members. However, the Paschers still want to take their time with a decision on this. If the traditional event around the Bergweberhaus is not possible, an alternative will be considered, according to the chairwoman.
