Airbnb is making a keeper of the ban on partying in a house that is rented through the platform. Such a ban was introduced during the corona crisis, as a measure to prevent the spread of the virus.
According to Airbnb, the number of reports of parties has almost halved since the ban came into effect in August 2020. The company now announces at the start of the summer season that the policy will be continued.
Last year, more than 6,600 guests and providers were suspended for violating the rules prohibiting parties.
Even before the corona crisis, Airbnb became stricter. For example, landlords were no longer allowed to offer ‘party houses’ on the site. Locations that caused a lot of nuisance in the neighborhood were also removed.
The limit that a house may be rented out to a maximum of 16 people, also set during the pandemic, will be abolished.
