Party noise revealed drugs and weapons and possible rape – VG

TRONDHEIM: The police are said to have made weapons and evidence that point to two rapes in a house in the center of Trondheim.

The police in Trøndelag have charged a man in his 40s for two rapes, weapons offenses and drug possession.

Just before 07 o’clock on Monday morning, the police moved out to an address in Trondheim city center after party complaints.

When the patrol arrived at the scene, they quickly became suspected of storing drugs, and thus searched the home. Then they also discovered several weapons of different character.

– A lot of different, simply, says police attorney Ole Andreas Aftret to VG.

It was Nidaros who mentioned the police action first.

A man in his 40s was charged with drug offenses and violation of the Firearms Act. But on Sunday, the case took a new turn after several witnesses were questioned and technical investigative steps taken:

– In connection with the discovery of the weapon, a number of objects were seized and interrogated. It is in connection with this that there is a suspicion of sexual abuse, and charges were filed for two cases of rape last night.

Police attorney Aftret states that there are two female victims, and that the incidents must have taken place at different times.

– One rape is said to have taken place last night, the other earlier.

In a press release, the police write that at the present time they cannot rule out that the charge will be extended, neither to the aggrieved parties to whom the case now applies nor by extending it to also apply to criminal offenses against others.

– The case is being investigated widely, and we are actively working on several different hypotheses, says Aftret in Trøndelag police district.

The police attorney does not want to say anything about the accused man’s history.

When asked whether the police link the findings to a criminal environment, he says:

– For the time being, we keep all possibilities open. There are weapons of a different nature, so it is natural to investigate a little. We have to gather information and stake out the course further from there.

Aftret says that some of those involved have been questioned, but that there are still more police wanting to question. The accused man and the two victims appeared for an initial interrogation on Sunday.

The man’s defender, Kolbjørn Lium, has not responded to VG’s inquiries. He previously stated to Nidaros that the man had not taken a position on the question of criminal guilt. The assistance lawyer for one of the women, Vibeke Meland, does not want to give statements about the case now.
