In January, Kliemt accepted Thomas Gerdom from the Düsseldorf office and Ferdinand Groß from Frankfurt into the partnership. The firm also appointed a principal counsel and a counsel.


The Kliemt partnership has Dr. Thomas Gerdom and Ferdinand Groß elected as partners. Dr. Jan Heuer is promoted to Principal Counsel, Jan-Philipp Brune becomes Counsel.

The new partners

Gerdom started his legal career in 2009 at CBH Rechtsanwälte in Cologne and in 2013 moved to Kliemt in Düsseldorf in the team led by Prof. Dr. Michael Kliemt. Gerdom assists companies and public law institutions in individual and collective labor law. One focus is the design and support of restructuring, transformation processes, outsourcing projects and M&A transactions. The 41-year-old also advises board members, managing directors and supervisory board members in the area of ​​corporate liability and service contracts for supervisory boards.

He supports companies with restructuring, the deployment of external personnel and the design of working conditions. He also represents companies in arbitration proceedings and labor court proceedings.

The new (principal) counsel

This year he has been with Kliemt as a lawyer since 2016 and advises companies and public law institutions on all aspects of labor law. One focus is the support of reorganizations and restructurings as well as the representation in labor court proceedings. Data protection law (e.g. GDPR checks, conclusion of IT company agreements) and the area of ​​labor law compliance, such as internal investigations into misconduct by employees, bogus self-employment and illegal temporary employment, are also part of the portfolio of the 38-year-old from the Düsseldorf office.

Jan HeuerJan-Philipp Brune

A job at Baker McKenzie in Munich marked the beginning of the legal career of 36-year-old Brune. He is part of the team around Dr. Burkard Göpfert, who joined Kliemt in 2017. Brune supports employers primarily in restructuring and restructuring projects and in the area of ​​works constitution law, including the negotiation of collective agreements, reconciliation of interests and social plans – also in the arbitration board. He also leads processes in individual and collective labor law and accompanies compliance projects.

The Kliemt partnership grows to a total of 17 partners. With around 70 lawyers, Kliemt is the largest law firm in Germany specializing in labor law.
