The good thing is that perhaps Tony Richardson’s learning curve has really begun, a player who has the ability to give opposing DCs a lot of headaches when he is healthy and on the day (not yesterday, for the avoidance of doubt…). Receivers that can be improved, except for Pittman. Jonathan Taylor’s two replacements are interesting. Good OL, defense that isn’t stratospheric but does just enough against a team that wasn’t at its best, euphemistically.
The Dolphins, albeit with a skimpy 2-4, remain second in a division that the Bills will be able to win with one hand tied behind their back and paradoxically do not have such a prohibitive calendar, assuming they manage to keep their number 1 on the team (in all the senses). We note that there is no escape from this point: Tagovailoa‘s presence is a total differentiator between a team that can do something (even if in decline compared to last year) and a team that is difficult to watch for an entire match. There are too many ifs and buts in South Beach. Everyone does their own thing but not in clutch time (Sanders…), some calls and the management of the clock don’t really speak in favor of coach McDaniel. defense that holds but every now and then has to capitulate because it spends too much time on the pitch, the OL that improves but is not even related to last year’s… the future is decidedly difficult to read.
Overall, the Colts and Dolphins are two teams yet to be deciphered and, inevitably, the game was not among the best.
