The Necker-Enfants Malades University Hospital of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris is the benchmark pediatric hospital in France.
It was born from the merger in 1926 of the Necker Hospital – where the stethoscope was invented and the first kidney transplant was performed – and the Children’s Hospital, created in 1802 and the first establishment in the world dedicated to children. .

The Necker-Enfants Malades hospital now has all the medical and surgical specialties for children and a selection of specialized services for adults.
More than 4000 professionals are dedicated to their care.
The Necker hospital has 400 beds dedicated to pediatrics and 200 beds for the specialized adult unit. On the strength of this originality, its teams have developed a high-level medical approach, supported by an exceptional synergy between the technical platform, the research units and the clinical units.
Reference center for many rare diseases and for serious and complex pathologies, the Necker hospital radiates beyond Paris and the Ile de France: more than 20% of hospitalized patients come from the provinces or from abroad.
The quality of care and the quality of life of patients and their families are the priority of all the professionals, as well as the more than 500 volunteers who take turns to surround the children, accompany them during their stay and in their games and support parents.

Job Description

You have an interest in the hospital environment and a taste for contact and relationships. You want to feel useful and participate in improving the stay of our patients in our hospital.
Our establishment invites you to participate in the cultural and leisure activities offered by our Plein Ciel cultural and entertainment center to children, pre-adolescents and adolescents hospitalized in our pediatric departments.

The Espace Plein Ciel is attached to the Patronage Department and to the Department of Cultural Policy and Events.

The Cultural Policy of the Necker Hospital aims to promote the development, socialization and autonomy of patients by offering cultural programming punctuated throughout the year by highlights (music week, dance, etc.) as well as cultural and leisure activities carried out in partnership with cultural establishments, associations and artists. It contributes to the hospital’s hospitality policy by improving the quality of life of patients and enabling them to maintain or develop their cultural and leisure activities despite hospitalization.

Inaugurated in January 1994, the Espace Plein Ciel is a space for culture and entertainment intended for pediatric services and more particularly for pre-adolescents and adolescents aged 9 to 20 hospitalized in the various departments of the Necker-Enfants Malades hospital. It aims at the development, socialization and autonomy of young people by taking into account the hospital environment.
The Espace Plein Ciel is a non-medical place where you only very rarely come across
“white coats”, which allows young people to escape from the hospital and to forget their sick status to regain that of young people.
This friendly place open to the world as well as its richness in terms of leisure and culture (sport, cuisine, gastronomy, arts, painting, music, etc.) offers young people the opportunity to relax, exchange ideas, play , to continue or to discover activities and thus makes it possible to maintain a link with the outside world.
Plein Ciel is a place of freedom, choice and consideration.

Activities :
Under the tutoring of the head of the culture and entertainment department and his assistant, your missions will be as follows:
– Welcoming and caring for preteens and teenagers hospitalized in the Espace Plein Ciel department
– Animate workshops at the bedsides of hospitalized children
– Provide support for young people to Plein Ciel or/and to their care service
– Animate the public through the proposed activities while transmitting their skills
– Identify patient needs and expectations
– Ensure the physical and moral integrity of the public received
– Participate in the communication of the service: creation of posters, animation planning, etc.
– Welcome and support partners in their interventions within the hospital and the Space

Schedule :
25 hours per week on the basis of 5 hours per day (adjustable) between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday
Evenings are also scheduled every week on Tuesday and Thursday so a rotation between the different members of the team is planned.

Duration of the mission :
6 to 8 months (from now on)

Framing:
Your tutoring will be provided jointly by the head of culture and animation of the pediatric services and his assistant as well as by the Human Resources Department of the establishment

The advantages of this mission:
– Compensation of 473 euros paid by the State and 107 euros by the AP-HP for transport costs
– Civic and Citizen Training over several days with other civic service volunteers
– Level 1 Prevention and Civic Relief Training (PSC1)
– Training in barrier gestures
– Support for the future project (discovery of hospital professions – medical secretary, programmer, nursing assistant and nurse, etc. – through observation time in immersion with the staff according to their future professional project ).
– Free access to the self-service

And for your safety:
You will carry out your missions in compliance with hygiene and health safety instructions. In the same way as professionals, you will have to comply with the protective measures adapted to the current health context.

To do this, you will be trained in barrier gestures, hydro-alcoholic friction and wearing a mask. Wearing a surgical mask is compulsory at all times in all areas of the hospital for all staff working in the hospital.
