All participants of the 16th Ordinary Session of the Synod of Bishops conducted a spiritual retreat at the House of Friendship in Sacrofano from September 30 to October 3. (Vatican News Network) Before the 16th Ordinary Session of the Synod of Bishops, all participants went to Sacrofano, not far north of Rome, after participating in the “walking together” vigil prayer service on the evening of September 30. The House of Friendship in the town of Sacrofano is conducting retreat work until the evening of October 3rd.
From Sunday to Tuesday, the retreat begins with morning prayer at 8:45 every morning, followed by meditation led by Benedictine Sister Ignazia Angelini. This will be followed by two meditations at 9:30 and 11:30 led by Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe. During intervals of meditation, participants engaged in silent and personal prayer.
After lunch, we meet in small groups to talk in the light of the Holy Spirit. Mass followed, and then Sister Angelini led the second meditation of the day. Finally comes dinner.
