A partial lunar eclipse took place on Saturday night, a phenomenon also visible in Romania. The natural satellite of the Earth was accompanied in the sky by the planet Jupiter, which was on the left side, according to those from the “Amiral Vasile Urseanu” Astronomical Observatory.
The phenomenon began with the entry of the Moon into the penumbra at 21:02, and the color of the Moon did not change at the beginning of the phenomenon, because the Earth’s penumbra was not very opaque, experts say.
The maximum of the eclipse occurred at 23:14, when the Moon was totally in the penumbra and about 7% in the shadow of the Earth.
The astronomical event lasted 4 hours and 28 minutes.
