Part of the emergency room of Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital paralyzed

Part of the emergency room at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, in eastern Montreal, was closed Friday afternoon after a water main broke.

“The leak has been plugged, the teams are working to restore all services by the end of the evening,” reassured Christian Merciari, spokesperson for the hospital.

The incident required the movement of around twenty patients to another sector of the hospital, without any being transferred to another hospital.

The ambulances will however be diverted until Friday evening 11 am, “the time that the service resumes normally and that the water current is restored”, added Mr. Merciari.
