Departures on summer vacation are usually synonymous with a drop in attendance at blood collection points. But the needs do not diminish, even at this time. 10,000 blood donations are needed every day, including 1,000 in Occitania. And in this period, the level of blood reserves is historically low, a critical situation which could prove dangerous in the short term for patients. It is in this context that the volunteers of the association of blood donors of Luzech mobilized. The passage of the Tour de France in our region was a great opportunity to raise awareness among the many spectators present in the assembly areas. Two stands had therefore been set up, one on the site near the fire station, the other in front of the Côtes d’Olt cellar. The goal was to provide information to the public, and above all to remind everyone that everyone’s involvement is essential.
