Parliamentary Delegation Visits Maamoura Hospital for Psychiatric Treatment and Addiction Recovery in Alexandria

Today, Wednesday, a parliamentary delegation of senators visited the Maamoura Hospital for Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment in Alexandria, attached to the Ministry of Health, to monitor the level of health services provided to patients.

Dr. Muhammad Othman Zuhdi, Director of Al-Maamoura Psychiatric Hospital, received the parliamentary delegation that included Representative Ihab Abu Kalila, Representative Dina Al-Hilali, and members of the Senate, and met to a group of those recovering in hospital to express their gratitude for the support given to them during their treatment and recovery.

The delegation inspected the internal departments of the hospital and the addiction treatment center, which includes the detoxification department and the psychological rehabilitation department, as well as the harm reduction unit, as well as the hospital meeting room.

The director of the hospital said that the services are expanding to include the neighboring governorates of Alexandria, such as Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Matrouh, indicating that the hospital provides follow-up services and rehabilitation for those recovering from addiction on a regular basis.

For his part, MP Ihab Abu Kalila appreciated the services provided to patients and the recovery of patients in the hospital. full support for the initiatives and programs that the hospital provides that are related to mental health and provide methods of treatment and recovery from addiction.

The parliamentary delegation praised the role of the hospital in treating addiction, especially among young people, and providing all kinds of support to those who are recovering according to the strategic plan for treatment addiction, which the Egyptian state places great emphasis on, as well as the rehabilitation of adult psychiatric patients and their reintegration into society, which contributes to improving the quality of life of citizens.
