Parliament: What happened yesterday – Mitsotakis attack on three fronts –

If someone did not know what was happening yesterday in the Parliament and heard that there was a fierce rivalry between New Republic and his PASOK but at the same time Mitsotakis – Samaras confrontation, one would think that he is possibly in a time capsule and was suddenly transported to the early 90s. But, when he would hear Zoe Konstantopoulou talking about TikTok and the president of the Parliament ask, mockingly of course, “what is this” he would realize that he is in 2024.

Fierce against the Parliament

Yesterday’s opposition to the Parliament probably sets the tone for the next period. Kyriakos Mitsotakis anointed Nikos Androulakis as his main opponent, thus also PASOK. He took him out of the frame Nikos Pappa but also him SYRIZAbecause as he pointed out: “I do not recognize as a representative of the official opposition a politician convicted 13-0 for breach of duty by the Special Court. I will not converse with him, nor will I have pleasure with him.’

Samaras picked up the glove

His last sentence was enough to ignite new fires. Antonis Samaras was the recipient of the tip and picked up the gauntlet by replying in circles: “It is obvious that K. Mitsotakis is attacking Mr. Samaras not because he greeted the official opposition leader who happened to be sitting next to him at a public event.” “So let’s deal with the serious stuff, at our borders. “Without other really dangerous charades, short-lived “friendship pacts” and bows”, concluded the Samara circles in their “message”, placing special emphasis on Greek-Turkish.

Nikos Androulakis

Many were waiting with interest for the expected confrontation between Nikos Androulakis and the prime minister. Two other fronts may have emerged along the way, but Kyriakos Mitsotakis is the protagonist in the triangle of tension. The president of PASOK was in his office in the Parliament from very early yesterday morning. For about 20 minutes he saw his deputies and talked with them. According to information from Vimas, Nikos Androulakis asked for the daily presence of his MPs in the Parliament, that is to say that they participate and strengthen the parliamentary group and document their parliamentary speech with evidence.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis, shortly after 11 o’clock, leaves his office in the Parliament, which is on the ground floor, enters the Plenary and sits on the ministerial chairs. THE Konstantinos Tasoulas he is based and explains how the process will go and gives the floor to the prime minister. In turn he makes an account of the this year’s fires and government manipulations.

The ostentatious departure of Mitsotakis

When the president of the SYRIZA parliamentary group ascends to the floor of the Parliament, Kyriakos Mitsotakis ostentatiously leaves. This causes the annoyance of Nikos Pappas, who comments while he is on the podium. Nikos Androulakis takes the floor right after and attacks the government on a variety of issues. Kyriakos Mitsotakis has returned to the ministerial seats when the president of PASOK took the podium. A little while later, in his rejoinder, he fiercely attacks both Nikos Androulakis and Nikos Pappas.

Androulakis: The government should “pick up the rod”

The president of PASOK accused the government of arrogant behavior, noting that “its days of omnipotence are past”. Mr. Androulakis called on the government to “get off the hook” and argued that its stance is hastening its exit from the Maximos Palace. “We will be here with suggestions and criticism to happily open the exit door for you,” he said characteristically.

Mitsotakis to PaSoK: “Come with me now”

“The sovereign Greek people will decide in three years who will rule” replies Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while using Popis Tsapanidou’s phrase to Alexis Tsipras, the prime minister ironically says to PASOK: “Come with me now”.

SYRIZA: “Unprecedented diversion of Mitsotakis to the Parliament”

The debate shortly before 5 has culminated with Kyriakos Mitsotakis making his trilogue. After all, the prime minister was traveling to Serbia. SYRIZA denounced his attitude towards Nikos Pappa in a statement. “The prime minister of direct assignments, scandals and the violation of every concept of the Rule of Law, exceeded himself today, unrepentantly violating the institutional order” they note and add “SYRIZA-PS condemns the unprecedented diversion of Mitsotakis in the Parliament, to attack in the most blatant way against the president of K.O. Nikos Pappa, thus insulting and discrediting the party of the Official Opposition”. In the same announcement, the executives of Koumoundourou ask the progressive parties of the opposition to rise to the occasion.

Androulakis: “You cannot underestimate the Opposition”

In a conversation he had with parliamentary editors, Nikos Androulakis, expressed his disagreement with what happened with Nikos Pappa, saying that “you cannot underestimate the opposition”. He himself, however, wanted to answer the questions he received in a sibylistic manner. Regarding whether the prime minister made him his main opponent in the Parliament, he limited himself to answering “the people judge these”. As for the long-awaited meeting of the two, he answered “everything in time”. For the moment, however, it seems that they have renewed their appointment for the next bra de fer in the Parliament.
