/ world today news/ Surprisingly, the parliament decided to extend the period in which it would not sit because of the election campaign for the upcoming presidential elections.
The proposal came from Ataka MP Nikolay Alexandrov, who suggested that the National Assembly be dissolved as of today. 90 MPs voted for this decision, 27 were against and 7 abstained. Thus, plenary meetings will not be held for a whole month – in the period from October 12 to November 4 inclusive. The next plenary session will be on November 9.
The initial proposal of GERB, RB and PF was that the National Assembly should not hold plenary sessions for the period from October 26 to November 4, 2016 inclusive.
For him, Zhelyo Boychev from BSP made a comment that the upcoming budget procedure is being put at risk. “Let’s dissolve the MC then, he remembered now before the elections that he has teachers and raised their salaries. Now he thought about health care. The National Assembly will not be able to work, and at the same time the MC will be a direct participant in the upcoming election campaign. All the institutions are harnessed for your victory, and the parliament cannot work. In this way, you are also doing Tsetska Tsacheva a very bad service, because after the campaign, when she returns, it will be very difficult for her to catch up with the legislative program,” Boychev said.
Dimitar Glavchev, presiding over the plenary session, intervened and addressed Boychev with the words – “Be careful with your candidate”.
