“Due to the dramatic understaffing, it is not possible for the Hospital Administration to sign incomplete emergency programs. It is not allowed to be in danger of reducing the active beds of M.E.TH. due to the non-announcement for years of the vacant organic positions of doctors” support and sound the alarm:
“It is clear that there are serious risks to the health of patients and the responsibility rests with the Directorates of Health and Hospitals and clearly the political leadership of the Ministry who systematically ignore our self-evident requests and try with zeal to dismantle what is left of the Public Health System” .
Given this, the doctors are asking for mass recruitment of permanent staff, the announcement of all vacant organic positions in the medical service and the immediate filling of vacancies in the Emergency Department, Pathology and Radiology with assistant doctors, as well as decent working conditions for doctors and hospital staff .
