With the votes of the ND and PASOK, the sale of “non-operationally necessary ammunition and weapons systems” worth approximately 175 million euros to the Czech Republic was approved at the closed session of the Parliament’s Equipment Program Committee, with the ultimate goal – according to the information – to end up in Ukraine .
In a process in which – according to the information – there was no shortage of tensions and conflicts between members of the majority and members of the opposition due to the fact that the indirect involvement of our country in the Russian-Ukrainian war is deepening, the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Yiannis Kefalogiannis, proposed before the Commission’s approval of the intergovernmental agreement with the Czech Republic for the sale of various types of ammunition (cartridges, rockets, coke projectiles), which have been deemed by the GES to be obsolete or not operationally necessary.
On the opposition side, only the third party voted in favor of the relevant vote, which caused whispers and murmurs in the corridors of the Parliament.
At the same time, the agenda included, in addition to the sale of the aforementioned ammunition, the purchase of 35 Black Hawk helicopters, which are expected to cost around 1.2 billion euros.
According to the information, KKE and New Left voted against, with SYRIZA and PASOK voting in favor.
Opposition figures reportedly brought up the issue of the flood and widespread destruction in Stefanovikeio, which Documento had revealed, with Mr. Kefalogiannis again avoiding giving clear answers.
The only thing the deputy minister was content to say was the number of “Apache” operational helicopters, repeating the narrative that the destruction of the military airport did not cause any damage to these helicopters.
