Parliament meets in an extraordinary session on Friday – 2024-09-20 00:20:51

/ world today news/ The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Dimitar Glavchev convenes an extraordinary plenary session of the Parliament on October 14, 2016, Friday, at 9:00 a.m.

The agenda of the meeting includes a draft decision to revoke the Decision of the National Assembly of 12.10.2016 on the work of the National Assembly in October and November 2016, a draft decision in connection with the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between Canada, on the one hand, and the European Union and its member states on the other hand, as well as parliamentary control.

The order to convene the meeting is based on Art. 78, item 2 of the Constitution and Art. 44, para. 2 and 3 of the Rules for the Organization and Activities of the National Assembly.

BGNES reminds that yesterday BSP and DPS collected and submitted to the registry 51 signatures for convening an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly on Friday. “We collected 51 signatures from BSP and DPS. Perhaps we could have taken from other groups, but after the dissolution of the meeting they hurried to leave. We want to convene the National Assembly on Friday with three points”, Kornelia Ninova told journalists. The first point is the cancellation of today’s decision to suspend the work of the parliament. “The second is consideration of our project for a decision to build a position on the agreement with Canada, which is extremely dangerous for the Bulgarian economy and agriculture. The third point is for parliamentary control”, she added.

From the announcement of the National Assembly today, it is clear that the first item proposed by the petitioners, to cancel the decision to terminate the sessions, is not included in the agenda of tomorrow’s extraordinary session.
