Parliament: Georgiadis’s new attack on PaSoK – “The co-governance talks were sardam” –

A fresh episode in the conflict between New Democracy – PaSoK and also personally between the Minister of Health and the party of Harilaou Trikoupis unfolded in the Parliament during a meeting of the Social Affairs Committee on the personal doctor bill. Adonis Georgiadis criticized the attitude of PASOK, saying that he insists on “no to everything”, while he made it clear that the co-government with PASOK was a sham.

“It was about sardam, I have no intention of co-ruling. One-party governments are more practical,” he emphasized at the beginning of his presentation. He then noted, speaking about the bill, that there are no “push a button and out comes the leprechaun” solutions.

“You confuse the doctor as a unit, we see him as a whole.” “Why don’t you vote for it? Because Androulakis came out and wants to show that he is against Mitsotakis”, he added.

“So you’re holding us together”

PASOK MP Andreas Poulas took the floor, wanting to remind him that in 2010 the ND did not vote for the family doctor. “So you’re holding us hostage,” retorted Mr. Georgiadis. He added that PASOK is a government party and cannot behave, as he emphasized, like the Greek Solution or the Spartans.

“You are not wronging either the ND or Mitsotakis. You are wronging yourself. This attitude leads you to the political margins again, when you say ‘no’ to everything by yourself, you deprive the Greek people of the right to choose”.

The Deputy Minister of Health concluded by accusing Charilaou Trikoupi of holding the same attitude at the Ombudsman, the Shipyards and the personal doctor. Defending the bill, he said that “it is well structured. He has set a goal: to pay our commitment to the EU and what he can do is measurable.”
