/ world today news/ Those who did not vote without valid reasons in two consecutive identical elections will be deleted from the voter lists for the next vote.
This was decided by the parliament with the texts of the amendments to the Electoral Code adopted in the second reading at a meeting that lasted until late at night. The deputies decided to drop the proposal to set incentives for voters who voted.
Disenfranchisement and the provision of incentives enlivened the debate in the plenary hall. According to the BSP, the option to delete people from the electoral rolls is an unnecessary clerical exercise. “I see that creativity exceeds any possible flights of thought, downright cynical buying and selling of votes by the government of the Republic of Bulgaria. Let’s better introduce the sentence – The method, type and size of the incentives is determined by a decision of the Council of Ministers, depending on the results of the voting, so that it becomes clear to everyone what it is all about”, stated Tasko Ermenkov.
According to Radan Kanev, the importers abdicate for the country’s membership in the Schengen area, as the sanction cannot take away constitutional rights.
Mustafa Karadai from the DPS stated that these are yet another unconstitutional text. “I call on you once again not to violate the Bulgarian Constitution, restricting Bulgarian citizens from their constitutional rights to be able to vote,” he said.
Daniel Kirilov from GERB stated that it is not about taking away civil rights.
During yesterday’s vote, the deputies rejected the possibility of conducting the election campaign in a language other than Bulgarian, when a translation is provided. The election campaign itself is 30 days away, as before, so are the polls, BNR reported. The possibility of forming local coalitions is preserved. The names of the local coalitions on the ballot will also contain the names of all the political formations that make them up.
Today, the people’s representatives continue the marathon with the voting of texts from the Electoral Code.
