Michalis Hourdakis is stepping down as representative of the independent MPs after the letters of protest from his colleagues and -mainly- because of Athena Linou‘s withdrawal of confidence in him.
The former MP of Plefsis Eleftheria managed to be a representative of the independent MPs at the Conference of Presidents for one week.
After the letters of Pavlos Sarakis, Haris Katsivardas, Michalis Gavgiotakis and Athina Linou, who had initially requested that Mr. Hourdakis represent her and then came back with a new letter that changed the associations, the president of the Parliament decided to repeat the process appointment of a representative for the independent deputies.
That is why he forwarded a letter to all 14 independents, inviting them to declare within three days who they prefer to represent them at the Conference of Presidents with the right to vote, something strongly criticized by Zoi Konstantopoulou.
Therefore, the person who collects the most letters will be the new representative of independent MPs. In the event of a tie, then – according to the Rules of the Parliament – a lottery is held.
