DRIEBERGEN/BUNNIK Own experiences will be central during the Parkinson Café on Tuesday, February 20 at 2 p.m. Various themes are discussed in short memorizations. The visitors are then invited to tell something about the course of their illness and to discuss this with other attendees. The Parkinson Café is held in the Sparrenheide Care Center in Driebergen (Mervill van Carnbeelaan entrance).
“Parkinson’s disease is a fast-growing neurological disorder that has a major impact on life. The cause of the incurable disease is not yet known, while the growth can be called pandemic, with approximately 65,000 patients in our country at the moment. The slow and premature death of brain cells in a certain part of the brain causes all kinds of progressive physical and cognitive problems, which vary per person. It is precisely because of these mutual differences that the Parkinson Café fulfills an important role as a meeting place for people with Parkinson’s disease, their partners, family members, friends and other interested parties, to exchange information and experiences,” says the Café.
Every Parkinson’s patient and his or her supervisor/informal caregiver are cordially invited to attend and, if possible, to talk about their own experiences.
Registration is not required but is appreciated. This can be done via info@parkinsoncafedriebergen.nl. A voluntary contribution to the costs is appreciated.
