Driver, are you having a problem parking your car? Or maybe you are afraid to give the car to your family members so that they will not beat it in the first parking lot? Ford comes out with a helping hand from people who have a problem with this element of driving. A modern solution is coming that will significantly facilitate this activity and make the related stress disappear forever.
Ford focuses on parking … without a driver
The new solution allows the car to park itself for us. Not only that – it will also find a free place for us. All this thanks to cooperation with technology companies that have prepared this type of solution, and these are jointly implemented. The driver only needs his smartphone and a special app to park.
Currently, the system is in the further research and testing phase, but as you can see, everything is going well. The system will be demonstrated at the Automated Valet Parking at the IAA in Munich, which begins this week. There are many assumptions for its creation, but one of the main ones is to limit the damages that most often occur when the car is parked.
One more thing is important here. A given car park must be equipped with a network of sensors located in the infrastructure. Without it, the car will not be able to read its surroundings on its own and be able to park it. Therefore, the solution, even when implemented, will initially be very limited. The question is what will be the cost of creating the infrastructure and whether it will make sense to invest in it for several cars.
An idea of the future
Of course, this is not a solution that will immediately conquer the world – although it should undoubtedly be. Ford’s idea is extremely innovative, although known, for example, from Tesla models. There, however, everything works on completely different principles, because no special infrastructure is needed for this.
Nevertheless, such solutions show one thing. In a few dozen years, entering the city center will mean that you will not have to spend several dozen minutes parking. We will leave the car anywhere, run the application and we will be able to go shopping in peace. During this time, the car will be parked automatically. Later we will only get information where the vehicle was parked. We will be able to go there or … summon them to any place later.
