Since this Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the Ouagadougou municipal police have been monitoring parking service rates throughout its administrative territory. For compliance with the provisions of Order No. 2015-033/CO/M/CAB/DAJC of March 13, 2015 setting the rates for parking services in the commune of Ouagadougou.
Parkers in the city of Ouagadougou, who do not respect the pricing in force, can gnaw their thumbs. The Ouagadougou municipal police monitor compliance with the rates in force in the municipality. And the control particularly concerns car parks located near health facilities, namely: hospitals, CSPS, pharmacies. Thus during their inspection, the municipal police noted that, already, 14 parking lots had been pinned down.
Violators risk a fine of 24,000 FCFA or even the withdrawal of their approval. The law in force in relation to places, namely, educational establishments, universities, vocational training schools, health facilities and pharmacies, sets the price of parking at 25 FCFA for bicycles, 50 FCFA for motorcycles and subscriptions at 500 FCFA and 1000 FCFA. At cement factories and morgues: 25 FCFA per bicycle and 50 FCFA per motorcycle. For weddings and baptisms, the price of parking is 50 FCFA for the bicycle and 100 FCFA for the motorcycle.
When we find ourselves in front of the public administration, the Yaars and markets, the price set for parking is 50 FCFA for the bicycle, 100 FCFA for the motorcycle and subscriptions at 500 FCFA and 1500 FCFA per month. In front of leisure places, concerts, shows, 100 FCFA for a bike, 200 FCFA for a motorbike and ceremonies, it’s 50 FCFA for a bike and 100 FCFA for a motorbike. Thus the General Directorate of the Municipal Police of Ouagadougou invites parking lot owners to respect the legislation in force in order to avoid any inconvenience.
