Parking, public transport: what changes in Dijon?

Parking ticket is suspended

Monday, March 16, Internet users were surprised to see Divia agents deposit post-parking packages (FPS) on certain vehicles parked in the streets of Dijon, when the government had asked to limit travel and encouraged teleworking. Since Monday evening, and the new measures announced by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, the situation has changed.

Thus, Tuesday, March 17, Dijon Métropole has, “given the circumstances”, “asked Divia to suspend the ticketing of parking in Dijon, with the exception of troublesome parking lots”.

Concretely, FPS will no longer be set up, but that does not mean that parking has become free, as other cities have decided (Besançon and Paris, in particular). No change is to be noted for parking in car parks.

A reduced transport plan

“Today, the transport plan corresponds to the reality associated with confinement,” observes Thomas Fontaine, director of Keolis Dijon Mobilités. “The priority is to maintain transport for people who have to travel for work. I am thinking in particular of healthcare and logistics professionals, whose imperatives are obvious during this period. Hence the mobilization of our employees, whom I thank. “

From Wednesday to Friday, trams will run from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., with a frequency of ten minutes, and buses from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., with frequencies of twenty to thirty minutes. The lines in service are L3, L4, L5, L6, L7, B11 and Corol. The containment requested by the government has a direct impact on the use of the network. Because if, during the previous two weeks, the drop was 8% to 10% compared to the same period last year, since the start of the week, attendance has decreased from 60% to 70% .

Several health measures implemented

To ensure the continuity of the transport service while limiting health risks, Keolis Dijon Mobilités has taken several measures in recent days: reinforced daily cleaning of vehicles with virucidal products, in particular on the grab bars and the driver’s area, l ‘ban on boarding the front doors and the automatic opening of the doors in the middle and rear of the buses, the end of the sale of the 1H Breakdown Pass with drivers on board the buses.

Travelers should therefore favor the purchase of tickets at tram stations, in Relais DiviaMobilités, the e-shop or pay with their contactless bank card (” open payment ”) Directly on board. The commercial agency DiviaMobilités is closed until further notice. “The automatic and systematic opening of tram doors at all stations, to limit contact with the buttons, is also essential,” adds Thomas Fontaine. “Travelers are asked to distribute themselves evenly, to avoid excessive crowding. Finally, tape-ins were installed to isolate the posts of the drivers on the buses.
