Park Village created Wasteminster for Greenpeace. The campaign aims to go against the exports of waste from England to other countries.
It is an animation in which Prime Minister Boris Johnson gives a speech on the nation’s polluting production while receiving a shower of plastics.
The film features the voices of impressionists and comedians Jon Culshaw and Matt Forde, creative production was handled by Studio Birthplace and its partners CGI Method & Madness, who built a digital replica of Downing Street using library photographs and satellite imagery. . Computer generated graphics and models were used to create the plastic wave, while the t and Flow software allowed individual plastic items to interact precisely.
“This powerful film shows the shocking truth about what happens to plastic that the government tells us is recycled but exported for other countries to take care of,” said Nina Schrank, senior activist for Greenpeace, in a statement.
Park Village Executive Producer Adam Booth said it was an honor to work with the Studio Birthplace team on the campaign. “Hours of painstaking CGI, across three time zones, really show up in the incredible detail of the simulation and waste modeling, and being able to put that skill to work for such an important cause and well-regarded client like Greenpeace was an absolute privilege, ”said Booth.
In addition, it should be noted that Greenpeace has called on the government to use the Environment Act to completely ban exports of plastic waste to countries such as Malaysia and Turkey and to set legally binding targets to cut single-use plastics in half in the next four years.
