Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee Star in “Gyeongseong Creature” Directed by “Stove League” Director: Production Presentation and Details

[OSEN=하수정 기자] What about a creature film directed by the director of ‘Stove League’ with Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee of ‘Gyeongseong Creature’?

On the morning of the 19th, a production presentation for the Netflix original series ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ was held at Layer 20 Studio in Yongsan, Wonhyo-ro, Seoul. Lead actors Park Seo-joon, Han So-hee, Su-hyun, Kim Hae-sook, Jo Han-cheol, and director Jeong Dong-yoon attended the event.

‘Gyeongseong Creature’ depicts the story of two young people whose only goal was survival, confronting a monster born of greed in the spring of 1945, when the darkness of the era was deepest. SBS’s ‘Stove League’ director Jeong Dong-yoon and ‘Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim’ series writer Kang Eun-kyung teamed up to create a powerful story that would engulf the entire world, from the splendid main street in the spring of 1945 to Ongseong Hospital hiding a huge secret. Korea’s representative youth stars Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, along with Soo-hyun, Kim Hae-sook, Jo Han-cheol, and Wi Ha-jun, who have solid acting skills and global recognition, lead the work by playing diverse characters. The combination of period drama and creatures will deliver eye-catching production, unrivaled storytelling, and overwhelming immersion.

Park Seo-joon played the role of Jang Tae-sang, Gyeongseong’s number one intelligence source. He is a self-made businessman and also the owner of Geumokdang, the best pawnshop in Gyeongseong. Han So-hee plays Yoon Chae-ok, a skilled professional toaster who can even find dead people, and sets out with her father to find her mother, who went missing 10 years ago. The two worked together for the first time in this work.

Next, Soo-hyeon played the noble wife Yukiko Maeda, Kim Hae-sook played Geumokdang’s Nawoldae, and Jo Han-cheol played Chae-ok’s father Yoon Jung-won. In addition, Park Ji-hwan played Gu Gap-pyeong of Geumokdang, Choi Young-jun played Lieutenant Kato of Ongseong Hospital, Hyun Bong-sik played Ichiro, and Ok Ja-yeon played Na Young-chun of Wolgwang Bar.

Park Seo-joon said, “As you can tell from the title, it is a genre work with creatures. But it is also a story of two youths. It is a work that can present a variety of complex genres to you.” He added, “I always read the story first, so the story itself of ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ is also very attractive. He said, “It came to me well. Moreover, it seemed like it would be a role that would allow me to show a variety of sides to myself.”

He continued, “I’ve always really liked writer Kang Eun-kyung, and director Jeong Dong-yoon was also airing ‘Stove League’ when he was filming ‘Itaewon Class’. I thought it would be nice to meet him once. And I could also meet Chae-ok and So-hee. “It was a very good experience,” he said, citing the reason for choosing the work.

Han So-hee said, “As my senior said earlier, I enjoyed watching ‘Stove League’ and I also enjoyed Seojun’s work. More than anything, the fun of the era was great. Since it is a genre that features creatures, I didn’t think the creatures would provide any help or background to me. “What attracted me the most was whether or not it would provide new help,” he said.

Park Seo-joon, who transformed into ‘Gyeongseong’s most stylish’ modern boy, said, “I tried to make it cool by researching the costumes first. When the drama opens, you will see the acting, but before that, I thought the first impression was the overall look. I tried to create that look. “I created the look after many discussions, and I hope many people will like it as much as I worked hard to prepare it.” The director praised, “As soon as I saw that appearance, I thought it was reassuring. They matched so well.”

Park Seo-joon said he filmed a torture scene from the first shoot. “I got wet after being splashed with water, so I wondered if this was a bit hazing. From the beginning, I went through hardships, not hardships. If this drama started like this, what would the end be like? I had a very strong impression. It made me fall in love with this drama. “It also served as motivation,” he said.

Regarding the melodrama with Han So-hee, Park Seo-joon said, “I was worried about controlling the speed and speed, and there was an atmosphere that could be felt by the situation and atmosphere, so there was an atmosphere created when looking at Chae-ok. Han So-hee is very good at acting and seems to be thinking about something in particular when talking. Rather, it was important to meet under the circumstances and look at each other. It can be seen in such scenes and can be described as an understated melodrama, but I think there will be quite a few scenes where you can feel the affection that this situation gives.

In response to a question comparing herself to Chae-ok, Han So-hee said, “Actually, my personality is very different from Chae-ok. I was worried a lot because I was not that open-minded, but there was also the influence of the times and the influence of Tae-sang and the people around her. Chae-ok’s purpose. “I was looking for my mother, so I focused on that and didn’t have much difficulty expressing Chae-ok,” he said, talking about the part he focused on.

Han So-hee, who filmed the ‘headbanging scene’ on the first day of filming, said, “If Seojun’s first filming was a torture scene, I filmed a headbanging scene. I think fans will like this scene. At that time, I thought, ‘This is the first filming, what about the final filming?’ ‘ “I felt like I was starting to get a lump in my throat, and the next day it got to the point where I couldn’t turn my head,” he said. “I think the director’s persistence made that scene. I really like his persistence. It was a scene where I was very greedy, so the director also I was satisfied, saying, “I wonder if they weren’t as greedy as me.”

Previously, Han So-hee suffered an injury around her eye while filming the action film ‘Gyeongseong Creature’. In August last year, her agency 9 Ato Entertainment told OSEN, “Han So-hee suffered an injury to her eye while filming an action scene for ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ this morning.”

The agency said, “It is not a major injury that requires surgery, but rather a minor injury. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he received first aid and is resting. It will be difficult to return to filming today, and we plan to monitor the situation for a few days before returning.” “There will be no disruption to the filming schedule,” he added.

Han So-hee said, “When it comes to injuries, not only I get hurt while doing action scenes, but the stunt team also gets hurt, and all the actors participating in the action get hurt. You can’t do action without getting hurt. No matter how well you prepare, once you start filming, everyone is serious. “It’s because I’m working hard. Still, one thing I overlooked is that I think I might have been able to avoid injuries if I had distinguished between what I could do and what I couldn’t do.”

He also said, “Just because I burn myself doesn’t mean everything will work. I thought it would interfere with filming. I like action, but I still feel like I could have done it better and more proactively.” He added, “It’s okay now. Action is okay.” He smiled and said, “I got hurt because I had feelings and was greedy to do well, so I hope you don’t worry or worry.”

Regarding the reason for combining Gyeongseong and Creature, the director said, “The primary reason is that when I was making Gyeongseong Creature with the writer, I told him that I wanted to tell the story of Gyeongseong as a director. When we got together in the beginning and talked about it, it was not just our story, but the world’s story. We proceeded with the goal of creating a story that would be known to many people by mixing creatures that people around the world like, and that we could convey it widely, not only to us. It was the first time incorporating creatures in the Gyeongseong era. I felt it was a good challenge because I thought it was a new challenge. “I slowly developed the story,” he recalled of that time.

When asked about the difference from the representative creature ‘Sweet Home’ series, he said, “At the beginning of the opening, a story about the origin of the creature is told. Our creatures have their own unique characteristics and fun,” and “The biggest difference is that the sad emotion remains.” I think the characteristic is the creatures. If you open and watch our work, I think you will understand what I am saying. The creatures are not powerful and cool. I tried to focus on that aspect. Because they are creatures with a story, their characteristics are “It is evident in the body and in the actions. The biggest difference between the Gyeongseong Creature is that the creature is imbued with the emotion of sadness,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Part 1 of ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ will be released on the 22nd, and Part 2 will be released on January 5th next year.
