“Park Kwang-on Elected as New Floor Leader of Democratic Party in Korea”

On the 28th, Rep. Park Kwang-on (3rd term, Suwon City Government, Gyeonggi) was elected as the new floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea. The new floor leader Park won the majority of support in the floor leader contest attended by 169 out of 170 members of the Democratic Party, defeating lawmakers Park Beom-gye (3rd term), Rep. Hong Ik-pyo (3rd term), and Kim Doo-gwan (re-elected). He ran for floor leader last year, but lost to Rep. Park Hong-geun. The Democratic Party did not release the number of votes each candidate received.
