North Korean media reported the next day that President Kim Jong-un visited the Kumsusan Sun Palace on New Year’s Day, where the bodies of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il are kept.
Four members of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea accompanied the ceremony and Park Jeong-cheon, former secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, was not seen.

Earlier, at a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held late last month, North Korea ousted Park Jeong-cheon, who had been party secretary and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and replaced former Defense Minister Ri Yong-gil.
In the video of the plenary meeting released by Chosun Central TV, it was often confirmed that Park Jeong-cheon, sitting on the podium, bowed his head like a culprit.
As it emerged that he too was expelled from the Politburo Standing Committee of the party, Park Jeong-cheon’s dismissal was confirmed as the responsible person.
It is noted that this discomfort is related to the reconnaissance operation with the sending of a South Korean military drone north of the military demarcation line (MDL) in response to the invasion of our airspace by a North Korean drone on the 26th of the month last.
At the time, the South Korean military sent two unmanned reconnaissance aircraft to North Korea, but the North Korean military reportedly failed to detect them and did not respond.
