Under a big blue sky this Friday, trowels in hand, the deputy mayor of Paris Jacques Baudrier, Lamia El Aaraje and David Belliard, as well as the mayor of the 20th arrondissement Éric Pliez, spread the cement. Between them, these elected officials from the capital laid the first stones of lots 8 and 9 of the RIVP-Python-Duvernois project, a renovation made as part of the Plan local d’urbanisme (PLUb) from Paris city hall, in an area built at the gates of the ring road.
Located between the Porte de Bagnolet and the Porte de Montreuil, this popular district, the poorest in Paris just five years ago, major redevelopment is being carried out, with the creation of social and student housing, offices and shops, by the end of 2025 for these two buildings. In general, the region should have 444 new housing units around a large park by 2028.
