Paris SG ended fourteen seasons of reign over the women’s D1 of Olympique Lyonnais by beating Dijon, to offer their first title.
Paris Saint-Germain won the 47th edition of the French women’s championship by beating Dijon FCOF on Friday June 4 in the advanced match of the 22nd and final day of Division 1 Arkema. History will remember that three internationals – German midfielder Sara Däbritz (main photo, in the fight with the Lyonnaise Amel Majri, on her side scorer and decisive passer this evening), Spanish defender Irene Paredes and Canadian midfielder Jordyn Huitema – offered the Parisian squad their first elite championship.
The large victory of Olympique Lyonnais at the expense of FC Fleury 91 (8-0) was not enough for him to conquer a fifteenth consecutive title, a historic series initiated in 2007 and now interrupted.
