Some eighty days after he suffered serious injuries in a horse riding accident, Paris Saint-Germain’s Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico will be released from hospital this week, according to media reports.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper suffered a horse-riding accident on May 28, from where he was transported by helicopter to the Virgen del Rocio hospital in Seville in a life-threatening condition. The former Sevilla and Fulham goalkeeper is expected to continue his rehabilitation at his home in Seville. A return to football is not a priority at the moment, but doctors have not ruled out the possibility of him playing again later.
