LParis Saint-Germain will apply for the call for tenders launched by the State to sell the Stade de France grounds for the summer of 2025, an internal source at the club said on Friday March 10, confirming information from the daily The Team. “We are candidates for the Stade de France” to buy the enclosure, explained an internal source at PSG on Friday, specifying that the file had not yet been submitted.
The price of the Stade de France is estimated at “647 million euros”, according to the State accounts established in 2021. Two calls for tenders were published on March 7: one for the sale, the another for a new concession, with the date of delivery of the “folds” April 27 at 12 noon, according to the documents consulted by Agence France-Presse. The offers submitted, both for the transfer and for a concession, will be studied in 2024, for a probable award in 2025.
PSG wants a stadium
Last fall, the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, expressed his dissatisfaction with the negotiations with the Paris City Hall for a possible takeover of the Parc des Princes, the club’s historic enclosure. A few weeks later, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, replied on January 15, indicating that the stadium was “not for sale”.
“If ever this does not move forward with the Paris City Hall, we are preparing for other options”, specified the internal source at PSG, adding that the discussions on the Parc des Princes with Anne Hidalgo had not progressed. The club believes that if PSG does not become the owner of its lair, it will not be able to start an expansion and modernization project, valued at 500 million euros.
