Paris Saint-Germain has kept hopes of wintering in the Champions League alive. Last season’s losing finalist had to win at Manchester United and they succeeded: 1-3. With one game to go, there are now three clubs on 9 points in group H.
The Parisians quickly took the lead thanks to Neymar, who luckily got the ball in front of his feet after a ricochet shot from Kylian Mbappé. United was then lucky that Fred only got yellow for a headbutt towards Leandro Paredes.
After more than half an hour, the home team came to 1-1 thanks to Marcus Rashford, who scored his sixth goal of this Champions League campaign.
Still red Fred
In the second half things went wrong for the English. A minute after Marquinhos had again given PSG the lead, Fred was allowed to come in after his second yellow card. In injury time, Neymar decided the game with his second goal.
Donny van de Beek was allowed to come on for United ten minutes before time, but could not prevent the defeat. On the PSG side, Mitchel Bakker participated in the last 25 minutes.
