Coach Paris Saint Germain, Christophe Galtier, detained by the French police. Galtier was arrested in connection with cases of racist speech and Islamophobia.

Galtier and his son were questioned at the police station in Nice. The police have the opportunity to detain Galtier and his child for 24 hours until the results of an examination come out to determine their status. He could have been named a suspect and then the case would go to court.
The case of alleged racist and Islamophobic remarks by Galtier occurred when he was still coaching Nice. This accusation arose after an electronic letter (email) from former director of football Nice Julien Fournier to Dave Brailsford as director of INEOS (a company owned by Nice) was leaked to the media.
In the email, Fournier revealed to Brailsford about a conversation he had with Galtier while still coaching Nice. Before joining PSG at the start of this season, Galtier coached Nice in 2021-2022. Galtier is said to have complained to Fournier because there were too many black and Muslim players in Nice at that time.
The French police have also examined the President of Nice, Jean-Pierre River and Fournier regarding this case. Galtier had defended himself by saying that Fournier had slandered him. But this case continues to continue in the French police.
This situation has the opportunity to make Galtier closer to Paris Saint-Germain’s exit. Galtier has been widely reported to be kicked out of the PSG coaching chair. Luis Enrique is said to be a strong candidate to replace Galtier.
