PARIS: Pierre VAULTIER, a 100% hypnotic snowboard line

Pierre Vaultier had broken the canvas in 2019 with “Shapes” which totaled tens of millions of views around the world and in which he had imagined an unprecedented snow pump track.

Forced into early retirement due to a knee injury, he hung up the board in December 2020.

The 2017 world champion, double gold medalist at the Olympic Games and holder of 6 crystal globes returns with Reshapes: a clip in the line of his first project, with an even more impressive snow structure built in Serre Chevalier at 2400m above sea level. ‘altitude. This new line sculpted with a scalpel required 14 days of work and up to 1500 m3 of snow, supported by Prada Linea Rossa.

“It was a huge technical and sporting challenge, we had no certainty that it would work, not to mention that the weather played tricks on us throughout the filming. The jumps had to be ultra precise, to the millimeter; the receptions were really perilous in some modules built on the side of the cliff. I had absolutely no room for error, there was no room to swerve or even brake. From the moment I entered the line, I had to trace to the end. » confides Pierre at the end of the shoot.

In a 19-minute documentary accompanying the clip where we see him engage in this hypnotic journey of 50 seconds timed by Alpina Watches, Pierre Vaultier looks back on this comeback at the highest post-injury level. It evokes the design of the route, the achievement of this technical, human and sporting performance.

“The doctors didn’t give much for my skin… Reshapes is therefore not just this new line, it is above all the story of the long road I have traveled to return to the highest level. “, he relates with emotion.

At a time when everyone was getting ready for China, the Frenchman was silently fine-tuning his new creative project… And it’s clear that he hasn’t said his last word!
