Paris knocks out Leipzig without Messi

Leipzig managed to win the first point in the second leg against PSG, but the knockout phase of the Champions League remained unattainable – Liverpool made it through to the round of 16 against Ateltico (2-0) – Ajax also continued prematurely after 3-1 win against Dortmund – Inter beat Sheriff 3 :1.

In Pool A, Paris Saint-Germain missed three points late without the injured Lionel Messi. Georginio Wijnaldum (21st, 40th) had put against RB Leipzig with a double to 2: 1. In stoppage time, however, the ex-Salzburg Dominik Szoboszlai converted the penalty to make it 2-2. For the Germans – with a very active Konrad Laimer up to the 86th minute – it was the first point in this Champions League season, promotion is no longer possible. Leipzig had taken the lead in the 8th minute through Christopher Nkunku, after which Andre Silva missed a penalty against Gianluigi Donnarumma (12th). The league leaders are Manchester City after a 4-1 win against Club Bruges.

Liverpool “through” early

Liverpool, however, already booked the fixed ticket for the round of 16. Diogo Jota (13th) and Sadio Mane (21st) met at Anfield against Atletico. After the red card against Felipe in the 37th minute, the game was finally steered into the right path from the perspective of the English. It will be very close in Group B for AC Milan after the “Rossoneri” only managed a 1-1 draw at home against Porto.

Milan wrote this for the first time in this Champions League season, but the knockout phase remains only a faint hope in last place in the table. Luis Diaz (6th) gave the Portuguese an early lead, an own goal by Chancel Mbemba (61st) equalized. More was not possible for the Italians in the final phase after the inclusion of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Dortmund is again bankrupt against Ajax

In Group C, Ajax is through after a 3-1 win in Schlager near Dortmund. Dusan Tadic (72nd), Sebastien Haller (83rd) and Davy Klaassen (93rd) turned the game around after Marco Reus (37th / penalty) initially put BVB in the front. Sporting Lisbon dealt with Besiktas Istanbul 4-0, Pedro Goncalves (31st / penalty, 38th) scored two goals that evening like Benzema and Wijnaldum.

In Group D, Inter Milan overtook Sheriff Tiraspol thanks to a clear 3-1 away win and moved up to second place.
