At 22, Paris Jackson went through overwhelming episodes throughout his life. In a series dedicated to her, she notably mentioned her suicidal disorders.
The whole world has seen her devastated following the death of her father Michael Jackson in 2009 when she was only 11 years old. Paris Jackson has 22 today and recounts the obstacles it has crossed in recent years. In a series made by her companion and available on Facebook called “Unfiltered: Paris Jackson and Gabriel Glenn”, the singer made disturbing revelations during the second episode of the series broadcast on July 7, 2020.
As a teenager, she admitted to being addicted to food. “I gained a lot of weight,” she said. “Then a cousin called me fat and I said to myself:” Ok, I can’t go on anymore “. And that’s how I fell into self-mutilation, “she said sadly. However, she always thought that she would survive since she was certain to be in control of the razor. “I knew how deep I was going,” she said.
“Yes, I tried to kill myself several times”
It was notably the release of dopamine that reinforced her desire to self-harm. Also called “happiness hormone”, dopamine secretes a lot of energy but also aggressiveness. It is notably stimulated by several factors such as the consumption of drugs, food or even sport. “Self-harm was one of them, as were tattoos,” said the actress. “Dopamine understands the word dope for a good reason, it’s that you feel good,” said Paris Jackson.
“Yes, I tried to kill myself several times,” admitted the pop star’s daughter. She noticed that her struggles with depression came “in waves”. She confided that she had this need to transform her emotional pain into physical pain in order to have this satisfaction of control. “So even if the lows are unbearably low, I still prefer that than nothing,” she said. “The pain is much better than the numbness because at least you feel something,” concluded the singer.
