Paris is about to become the international skateboard scene

On August 17 and 18, Paris will host the Red Bull Paris Conquest. A unique event in the capital to discover this new Olympic discipline: skateboarding.

This year is definitely a good time to enjoy skateboarding. This street discipline, born in the United States in the 1950s, has experienced considerable growth since the early 2000s. Such enthusiasm for this street sport that it entered the big leagues this year by becoming an Olympic discipline. For the first time in its history, skateboarding will be represented at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. But this summer, the famous skateboard will not only be on TV. She also arrives in the streets of Paris for a unique event of its kind, the Red Bull Paris Conquest. A competition that will bring together skaters from all over the world to compete head to head on the Place du Trocadéro. An occasional skatepark will be set up, bringing together the most famous skate spots in the capital. Thus, the Bercy boulder, the Ledges Place de la République and the Curb du Luxembourg will be reproduced in one and the same place.

A 4-star cast

With the Olympic Games barely over, the stars of the discipline have already met in Paris to compete again in a high level competition. Among the stars who have already confirmed their presence, the Brazilian Leticia Bufoni, five times gold medalist at the X Games and favorite at the Olympic Games, but also the very young and 2019 world champion, Pamela Rosa. Also on the list are four French: Aurélien Giraud, winner of the Dew Tour 2019, Tim Debauché and the 2019 European champion Vincent Milou. Among the girls, Charlotte Hym will be present, champion of France in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.

A generation that wants to make people talk about it and boost this street sport, often criticized, to the rank of world-famous sport. Three years before the Olympic Games in Paris, this event is also an opportunity to open up the discipline a little more to the general public and for athletes to share their passion.
