This request comes after a series of incidents on the outskirts of Place Stalingrad, a working-class district in the north-east of Paris, where drug addicts and residents “coexist”. During the last weekend, clashes broke out on Avenue de Flandre, the scene of mortar fire targeting crack users. The latter, left to their own devices since the closures of the reception areas during confinement, found in this shooting room a point of fall, to the chagrin of the inhabitants of the district. The proposals of Mounir Mahjoubi, who last year asked for enhanced security and lighting, “have remained a dead letter”, denounces the former Secretary of State in a letter addressed to Anne Hidalgo, which is echoed The Parisian.
