A 27-year-old cyclist has died late afternoon, Tuesday October 15, 2024, after a dispute with a motorist on Boulevard de Malesherbes, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, according to information from Actu 17 confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office West France.
The driver of the vehicle was with his daughter
According to witnesses present at the scene, the two men had an altercation. After restarting, the driver of the vehicle hit the young man and allegedly drove over him, according to The Parisian .
Arriving quickly on the scene, emergency services were unable to do anything to try to resuscitate him. The victim suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest.
In the motorist’s car was his daughter, aged around 10 years old. The 52-year-old man was arrested on site, the prosecution told us.
An investigation is underway
The Paris prosecutor’s office also indicates that it has “was informed of the death of a cyclist on the public highway, after a dispute with the driver of a vehicle”.
“The duty magistrate is on site. The methods of the investigation are currently being evaluated and will be specified later”he added.
