A small Asian canteen founded by two gourmet friends and travelers, which mixes Asia in all directions, and offers it to be tasted on the spot in front of the Trinity Church or to take away: it’s Yam Yam. No great reed effects, no gourmet pretensions, but some gently honed recipes and their generous bowls, of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese or Indian inspiration.
Thus the bobun, ban mi and bao, or again, as regards the pretty “crispy” shrimps with their sweet and sour sauce, the edamame beans (unnecessarily flanked by a little tired lettuce), the salmon and tuna bowl with sesame and vegetables, the “chicken katsu” – a tender breaded chicken fillet with Japanese panko, flanked by rice flavored with its pretty Indian curry, and finally coconut pearls in mango or pineapple tapioca.
Then we tasted the elegant rosé from Provence Bodvar cuvée number 9, which raises everything with presence. Have a wonderful exotic summer! A little ahead …
