Game over for the “oven” of the Goutte d’Or. Three men were arrested this Wednesday in Paris, Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) and Lilas by investigators from the territorial security of the capital. Law enforcement also seized 70 kg of cannabis resin from the suspects’ homes as part of investigations that began last July.
The police began to work last summer in this sector of Paris (18th century), known to house deal points in two halls of buildings, located between rue des Gardes and rue Polonceau. They discovered that this business was run by a well-known family in the neighborhood. And more particularly one of the brothers who ran a small grocery store there. Two building halls belonging to the HLM lessor “Paris Habitat” served as a veritable cannabis supermarket. Fifteen dealers were identified there.
500 customers a day came to get their supplies
The kiln employees were organized around two groups that alternated morning and afternoon shifts. They opened their business from ten o’clock to two o’clock in the morning and welcomed no less than five hundred customers a day for a daily turnover estimated at 8,000 euros. The police also identified four apartments which were used as storage space while the sale was practiced at just-in-time. The team was placed under surveillance for many months.
Last July, a first series of arrests made it possible to surprise nine first suspects who were selling drugs in the small square of the district. In November, the police arrested fifteen new people who worked in these halls and caused a lot of nuisance for local residents.
At the time, the searches led to the seizure of 14 kg of cannabis resin, 136 g of grass, 420 g of cocaine, 19 g of synthetic drugs and 52,000 euros. Officials had also discovered two pistols. Most of the traffickers confessed. The last trio was placed in police custody in the premises of the security. He could be brought this Friday before the Parisian investigating judge in charge of this case.
